In the recent past, many articles were produced, criticizing the government for not doing enough. Several open letters were written to the political party leaders, people residing outside Nepal, bureaucrats etc.

There is a lack of clear-cut policy on INGOs in DCP. We have seen mushrooming of INGOs in Nepal and this needs to be controlled. DCP must put minimum threshold for any INGOs keen to work in Nepal. This will helps to reduce the number of INGOs in Nepal, which will make it easy to monitor.

Many key development partners are emphasizing support to federalism process as one of the important area, but it is not in the priority list of the government of Nepal.

Government of Nepal recently published its Development Cooperation Policy 2019, which outlines the Government’s foreign aid policy under the federal system of Governance.
